President's Report
WVSHE welcomes 2026 with many changes to our organization. We are always trying to bring more benefits to our members through Education and Training and as your President, I want to say that there are some really awesome things coming this Year.
WVSHE Announces
I am so completely proud to announce that WVSHE will pay for your Training and Certifications. At our Annual Conference last year it was voted to approve a Reimbursement program for WVSHE Active Voting Members and Associate Members. To qualify you need to meet a simple criteria...
- You must be an Active Member or Associate Member with Paid Dues.
- You must have attended One WVSHE event in the last Year.
- You must provide proof of the Training or Testing that you took with a valid receipt.
With this Criteria met, WVSHE will reimburse you for the cost of the Education or Certification!!
Calendar of Events
WVSHE Spring Educational Event will be May 8th, 2026 at Flatwoods Conference Center. We are asking for Abstracts for Education and idea suggestions for Learning.
Our Annual Conference and Tradeshow will be held at the Bridgeport Conference Center August 18th -21st. We are also interested in abstracts for Education for this event. The Tradeshow will be larger and longer this year and there will be more Activities and Education this year. We are excited to try out the new Venue.
Community Service
With the last few weeks of Arctic like temperatures and weather, we need to keep in mind that Fires are always a possibility at our Facilities. This excerpt is from Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania. The Fire was on the roof of the hospital, please click the link to see the article.

Member Recognition
February is Heart Month and our very own P.J. Cooper's story is touching and a true Survivor story. We all need to take care of ourselves and Heart health should be key to our personal wellness plans.
